Ive always loved German Shepherds,and we got Cassie in 1986 ,she was 9 weeks old and just a bundle of fluff..absolutely gorgous..
As she was growing she ruined alot of our things..any shoes lying about ,a coffee table ,even a whole rug ripped to shredds..I didnt think I could cope with all this but slowly around 2 yrs old she started to turn into a lovely dog that loved us all,she loved my grandkids when they came ...WE USED TO EVEN HAVE A BIRTHDAY FOR HER..She would get a "cake" made of meat with a Bonio candle..she didnt know any different,but the kids loved coming here and celebrating..I had Cassie for nearly 14 years..and when she became ill..I took a while to come to a decision to put her to sleep...I just couldnt think of a life without her...she was my best friend..
But she got too bad and we took her to the vets...This was my saddest day..and I can honestly say I thought I'd be ill...the house was so empty,even though people came ..I thought I'll never go through this ever again...I did feel depressed over her..some people would say it's only a dog..But YOUR dog will always be a friend always be loyal and put you first...
After some months I went to a dogs home to look around ..and saw this lovely German Shepherd that had been badly treated ...I fell in love with her and asked if I could have her...After 3 weeks of waiting I was allowed to fetch Tessa home ..She was a lovely dog too,nervous because of her past home life..I had tessa for 7 yrs before she died..
But Cassie will always be my first love and best friend...

There is a star in Heaven

This star has watched you through the years

Rainbow

It's archway of many colours,
Is spirits healing ray,
And also the doorway to heaven,
Where spirits of animals play.
So when you see a rainbow,

I'll never see a rainbow

A symbol of God's love fulfilled
In beauty, hope and grace;
A rainbow is a mirror
Reflecting His own face.

With Heaven its domain;

I came home from work; after a long hard day
but the house felt so empty; I couldn't stay
So I grabbed my coat; and hopped in the car
then drove to the park; it wasn't to far
I walked down the path; and spotted a bench
then it started to rain; guess who got drenched
I dried the bench; then sat down to rest
I looked up in the tree; and saw a bird's nest
I watched two dogs; take a break for a drink
as my mind started wandering; I started to think
I thought about times; from back in the past
when the fun we had; would last and last
The kid's would see us; as we walked in the park
and they'd come a runnin; as you let out a bark
With your friendly bark; and wagging tail
off you'd all go; play on the trails
You were so kind and gentle; never a pest
in everyone's book; you were simply the best
Always there; for one in need
as you did your best; to do a good deed
I got up from the bench; and walked to my car
then drove back home; it wasn't very far
I walked in the house; and pulled up a chair
then opened a window; to get some fresh air
I went to the kitchen; to get a drink
then sat in the chair; and began to think
My life has been blessed; since the day we met
to me you are one; very special pet
The Lord decided; to put us together

We humans are prone to chase rainbows,
always wanting that pot of gold.
But the wisest of us remember the joy,
of just a small creature to hold.
Allow yourself to accept their great gift,
and know what devotion is worth.
If you've been loved by a dog or cat,
you're the richest person on earth.
But their lives are lived in miniature-
bright sun to palest moon.
They bless our days with innocence,
and faithfulness that's stilled too soon.
These precious lives are fragile,
as fleeting as a baby's smile.
So give them all the love you have,
they're only ours for a little while.
And in the lonely moments,
when you pause to wonder why.
Hold close those brightest shooting stars,
that burn so briefly in our sky.
